POWERLOGIX ANNOUNCES 7457-based POWERFORCE G4 1.4GHz FOR CUBE

AUSTIN --October 30, 2003 -- PowerLogix today announced the PowerForce G4 1.4GHz upgrade card for the PowerMac G4 Cube.

Running at a speed of 1.4 GHz, this new CPU card has twice the L2 cache (512K) of the previous 7455-based cards (256K) for additional performance. In addition, the new 7457 draws an incredible 40% less peak power than the previous chip for cool and reliable, high-performance operation. The card includes 2Mb of L3 cache.

The card is compatible with all PowerMac G4 Cubes and is built using the well-established Series 100 card design.

This card is the fastest CPU card available for the PowerMac G4 Cube.

When used in conjunction with the new PowerCube Enclosure and a high-performance graphics card, Cube owners now can reach levels of performance which were never reachable in the past. In addition, because of the low power draw and the added cooling of the PowerCube, customers can expect long life and reliable operation for years to come.

Retail Pricing (street prices may be lower) is $599. Availability: first production units will be shipping in approximately 1-2 weeks. Backorders are already in place, so get in the queue to receive your card early.

PowerLogix continues to be the market leader and is the first to offer this latest low-power 7457 CPU.
